Patients forced to remain in bed for a long time due to a severe condition are in danger of developing pressure ulcers in areas were the body touches the mattress. As a rule we try to prevent those ulcers from appearing in order to prevent the necrotizing of tissues. This can be achieved using regular positional changes, special mattresses and physiotherapy.

In case of existing ulcers and if the general condition of the patient allows it we address the problem using local flaps or more complex dermomuscular flaps that can solve this life threatening issue.
